The following are accepted into the program, provided they meet the necessary requirements for successful course attendance: graduates of Greek university departments (ΗEI) and equivalent recognized institutions abroad, graduates of the Hellenic Police Academy and the Hellenic Police Officers School, as well as graduates of Greek Technical Educational Institutes (TEI) or equivalent recognized institutions abroad (Law 4485/2017, Article 34).
The program aims to train scientists in appropriate prevention strategies, treatment, and other interventions for addressing addictions, while introducing them to doctoral-level research methods for the production and application of valid and innovative knowledge in the scientific field of addictions. Furthermore, due to the interdisciplinary nature of the subject of the program, its aim is to provide young scientists with thorough, interdisciplinary teaching and training in the relevant research methodology, with a view to enabling them to produce and apply new knowledge.
Upon completion of the program, students should be able to work in public and private sector positions that require specialized knowledge for the management of issues related to the field of addiction. Provision will be made for the availability of special research tools and appropriate topics for doctoral dissertations in the field of addiction.
