DESCRIPTION - ACCEPTED STUDENTS CATEGORIES: The aim of the program is to deepen the students’ knowledge of significant social, cultural and political questions which are of importance in Greece and France and to train them in literary and translation theory and analysis.
This interdisciplinary program promotes intercultural research in various aspects of Franco-Greek relations. In particular, its objective is the systematic study, interpretation and critical analysis of aspects of the intercultural relations between Greece and France from a historical point of view.
In this context, it studies translation, synchronically and diachronically, as an agent of intercultural mediation and interrogates the role of original and translated texts as the means of the transfer of ideas and communication between countries and cultures.
It promotes the critique of methodological approaches of literature and culture and their application to the learning process. The program facilitates the production of scientific discourse in the fields of literature, culture and translation, and the training of translators in the field of literature and the humanities.
