1. The program “TOXICOLOGY,” graduates of Greek universities or equivalent foreign institutions are accepted, provided they meet the necessary requirements for successful completion of the courses, from the Schools of Health Sciences, Positive Sciences (Departments of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, and related specialties), Agricultural Sciences, Food Sciences, Nursing, and other related university departments, as well as graduates of technical colleges with a related field of study, in accordance with the requirements of paragraph 12c, Article 5, Law 2916/2001.
The objective of the TOXICOLOGY graduate program of the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, University of Thessaly, is to train high-quality scientists in applied toxicology with a heightened respect for the environment and protection of the health of workers and consumers. It is the first attempt in Greece to offer toxicology studies at the postgraduate level. Graduates will develop a broad range of skills, knowledge and experience required for successful careers in all sectors of the chemical industry, laboratories engaged in the analysis and biological activity of toxic substances, the food industry and the analysis of genetic material for forensic purposes. They will receive a comprehensive knowledge of the European educational framework in the field which will be valuable in the development of the industrial sector as well as in specialized laboratories and services.
